Chipped in 50 bucks. As someone who had to struggle with an aggressive form of cancer as a child (twice) and has lost several family members to it, it's a fucking terrible disease.

I'm too much of a broke college student to spring for the 50bux mark, but I won't miss that 10bux. It's for a good cause.

Re: Andrea Libman's Ride to Conquer Cancer: Please Help!
In the light of Kiki's passing, this campaign just got another justification for its existence. Not that it needed one, but I really hope it sets a strong signal for people. Cancer is alive and well.
I just donated some more. I'm scrapping together all I can. For this cause, it's worth it.
Whether you can give 10, 100 or anything inbetween, you will help a tremendously important cause.

Jeff was in last place and now he's in first. Eat it Lindsay and Lucas, you're going down!
My brother was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on August 28, 2012 and was announced cancer free on May 30th, 2013.
I'm ashamed to say I didn't help much during this time, but I suppose this is a way I can give back.
A special thanks goes out to the Canadian Healthcare System, all the doctors and nurses that worked with Dillon, all his friends and their support, his secret girlfriend, and my pal Iris who worked in the ward across from him and would check up on him and my mom for me. My biggest thanks of course goes to our mom, who was with him every step of the way on the behalf of our whole family for almost an entire year.

Cancer just took my favourite author, my hero from me today. I want to donate to fight this fucking thing, but they don't accept Paypal and I don't have my own credit card. Could someone do it for me and I'll send them the money? I only have $20 to give but it's something, I hope.

I have the same problem. I can't donate money because I don't have credit card.
My grandfather died of cancer last March, so I would gladly give money for this purpose.

Can they still be considered muffin tops if they're sticking out of the bottom of something? Is there already a name for that, or is that a term that hasn't really been needed?

Then do something. Like obi2 said, it's not too late. Every contribution counts, after all. I'm sure any of those three people would be pleased to go well over their goals.

Well, I'm fucked. I told my parents about the charity this morning with the suggestion that I could donate 15 Euros. Their response? That most charities are "bullshit" and doesn't help anyone.
I didn't believe a word of it but that's not the problem. The problem is that, I would donate using my credit card, but we're going to the bank this week and they will definitely notice the missing money and bitch about it to me for a long time. I don't want to go through that, especially because they're in such a bad mood to begin with.
Fuck, this shit sucks. I'm going to lie down and think for a while.

Remember, don't forget to PM me your receipts/proof of donation to be entered into our raffles!
And since it doesn't officially end until the 14th, you can still donate even though they've met their goal. Every dollar counts!

Re: Andrea Libman's Ride to Conquer Cancer: Please Help!
Though some people blacked out their donation totals, based on funding levels that they forgot to black out I was able to deduce some things. Some stragglers still have not reported their receipts yet but I can safely say that so far the forums have raised over $1300 for Andrea's team! And there's still a few more days to go.
If you donate through a third party (e.g. paypalling money to somebody to send on your behalf) both of you must send me a receipt as proof.
When the deadline (the 14th) passes, I will get the ball rolling on doing the raffles. But before then, let's see if we can get up to $1500!

It would be really cool to hit $1500, but even if the mark is missed by a little bit, that's quite the chunk of change! Color me impressed, P'goons. Good on you.
Makes me wish I could actually contribute.

I already offered up a gif request, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to throw a couple picture requests on the raffle pile as well.
They shouldn't take as long for me to do as I've been keeping Pictish waiting for his. I'm procrastina-awesome! (It's almost done, I swear!)

I just donated at the behalf of Mordja, Frith and Paperback! Receipts to Kefka have been sent!
For the honor roll I just used your nicknames. Apologies if that's not what you wanted, I just wanted to make sure I don't make a mistake by using your actual names in some fashion.

Chipped in. I've only one surviving grandparent, the other 3 all succumbed to cancer. So yeah, cancer's pretty close to home.

I know that feel, B9. I couldn't donate too because my parents will see the missing money and tell me I'm wasting it.
None of the people I know on Facebook would donate it if I shared either, so all I could do was upvote her Reddit post.

Donated in the names of ROBOT B9 and Kiith Soban because screw that noise, charities are not a waste. You would have donated if you could, and I can, so I did it for you.

That sucks. It's easy to forget just how nice it is to be financially independent. I'm a hopeless soft touch, so I dare say my nearest and dearest would roll their collective eyes if ever they saw my transaction statements.
EDIT: Wow, Perry, that is super awesome. Just wow. Way to go.

Thank you so much, Perry. I hope I can repay the favor someday.
My parents' bullshit is especially bad considering we lost one relative to cancer already and my grandma has been holding the line for over a year now. They say it's worthless because either the charity is a scam or it's not going to directly benefit any of us, so it's a waste of money.

Yeah, the ironic and sad part is that my father had prostate cancer a few years ago. He got rid of it right away and is now 100% clear but I don't get why he thinks this charity is bogus IF HE SUFFERED FROM CANCER.
