Oh god, thanks for reminding me when my copy of Pokémon Blue glitched out on me (due to too much cartridge blowing :facehoof:) and I wound up having to restart the whole thing.

I had a Lv 73 Blastoid and almost defeated the last gym boss! :applejargh:

Wait, you had a level 73 Blastoise before fighting Giovanni? That's... pretty significantly overlevelled, especially considering that everything he has is weak to water. :v:

I battled almost every single trainer on the way and spent a boatload of time fighting in the water levels and training. I took my Japanese Fighting Pets very seriously. Plus, I might be misremebering a little bit considering the last time I played my copy before it broke was in like 2000. :v:
