Re: Wildermyth
Now we gain resources from all the tiles we built up. # of years of peace is determined by how many tiles are cleared by chapter's end. The Swans did as well as they could in that regard.
Because we achieved our chapter goal, cards are deducted from the enemies' bonus stacks.
As for our heroes, what were they up to?

Re: Wildermyth
We have the option to say whether Gurieta's gem-ness spreads further through her body. If it does, her arm becomes a razor-sharp crystalline weapon. The downside is that she would effectively lose a hand; her bow would be replaced with a small one-handed crossbow.
For Gurieta I don't feel this tradeoff is worthwhile, so it doesn't happen.

Re: Wildermyth
Next we get to spend our hard-won resources on better gear for everyone. Suthille weaves herself some Dustydrab mystic's clothing, which provides better protection than her old farmgirl's outfit. A small bonus to spell damage, too.
For Thusette, armor worthy of a hero. There are two broad categories of warrior armor: heavy mail which provides great protection at the cost of speed (such as worn by Yovia), and a lighter getup that allows full mobility, which Thusette favors. Plus it lets her show off her muscles.
Gurieta gets a complete upgrade to all her gear.
Grayshard, a proper dagger to replace her old skinning knife.
Ashenpride is her prized possession: an enchanted bow infused with the spirit of fire. This manifests when she scores a critical hit (which we're hoping is often), causing nearby enemies to be burnt. It seems to fit the Gurieta-Suthille rivalry that they can both make fire now.
Finally a new set of clothes better suited for the perils of adventuring. By this point we have run out of hides and fabrics, but you can spend Legacy Points to compensate for missing resources. Gurieta's survivability seems important enough that we burn 3 LP to get this outfit made.
Yovia's gear is already good. She doesn't change at all.

Re: Wildermyth
And so, after 11 years, finally a break in the Gorgon case.
We cut to an in medias res of the ensuing Swans meeting where Gurieta lays out her theory.
As usual, Suthille's not getting it.

Humans have their stories, Gorgons have theirs.
In the end stories are everything.

Re: Wildermyth
And so after years of peace, destiny calls the Swans of the Wildermyth again. Gurieta has learned there's a legendary artifact called the Seaspear and the Gorgons are searching for it to enable their leader, Ulstryx, to rally his people -- for what purpose we're not sure, but it can't possibly be good. Our advantage is we already know where to find this Seaspear. Our problem is there's a lot of monster-filled territory between us and it.
Chapter 2 has a time limit: we have 300 days to reach Oatsaver Altar in the east and claim the spear. Each tile we free of Gorgon control gives us more time. If the Gorgons beat us to it, the campaign continues but with a serious disadvantage to us.
Some things have changed on the map in the intervening decade. First, the countryside has opened up: there are now more tiles in the north and east. Oatsaver Altar is in one of these; another contains a second town, Broodstill. Like our hometown of Rockyfend, Broodstill is a target for monster incursions and is a place where we can craft gear and recruit new members.
The tiles we cleared in Chapter 1 remain monster-free and have even gained some fortifications!

Re: Wildermyth
Our heroes have gotten older too, and I've changed a few hairstyles and outfits to reflect the passage of time. In later years you'll also see a touch of gray in their hair; that'll be the game doing that.
Characters in their mid- to late 30s are just past their physical prime. They move a bit slower and recover from wounds slower, but experience more than makes up for these minor penalties.
Suthille, the oldest of the group, has hit the big 4-0 (you can see it in her hair). The effects of age don't matter as much to Mystics, who should be avoiding physical confrontations anyway; she'll likely be adventuring long after her companions have retired.

Re: Wildermyth
The initial plan is for the team to split up: Gurieta scouts a wilderness tile while the rest head to Broodstill, where it's rumored a new recruit may be available.
But a side quest intervenes before the team has even left Rockyfend.
One of Suthille's personality hooks is "Lucky". Today, Yovia's going to see just how far Suthille can stretch that luck ...

Re: Wildermyth
Look, sometimes you need to put saving the world on hold in order to win a bet with your buddy. That's the buddy-bet code.
Suthille and Yovia have to go on this absurd mission (it's their bet), but we can bring a third if we want. We don't, though. The others already have work to do.
Now as it happens, their goal is right by the tile they started in, so this storyline continues pretty much immediately. It takes place in the forest outside Hawkerworn Folly.

Re: Wildermyth
Morthagi. Wouldn't you just know.
That behemoth is accompanied by two Spectik scavengers. Yovia and Suthille go back to back behind the big sawmill.
Fortunately the enemy decides to split up. Rookie mistake. The two Spectiks come around to Suthille's side. She interfuses with the saw to set a nasty blade trap for them.
The Batchby comes around the other side, where Yovia is ready for it.
Huge it may be, but given time Yovia can chop through anything.
The thing manages to land one good hit on Yovia. That's not enough to save it, though.
Suthille has fun watching the Spectiks slice themselves on her deathblade trap. When she gets bored of waiting she compels one to walk over it again.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Some screencaps didn't take, so we've lost a few panels. Yovia and Suthille head to an inn and chat.

And so Yovia and Suthille continue to Broodstill to see about that new recruit.
Meanwhile, Thusette and Gurieta are scouting a tile when ...

Re: Wildermyth
So Audiana Crustings joins as the fifth member of the team. Suthille teaches her to unlock her Mystic powers, but her magical path takes a different route -- whereas Suthille's specialty is burning things, Audiana's is buffing things. Allies standing near an Audiana-interfused object gain damage bonuses.
Very much a Type B personality.
