That makes it official that, since purchasing my scale in mid-January and posting in this thread, that I've lost 50 pounds. I'm confident I've lost more than that, because I was working out and dieting for two weeks before that, but we just won't know. I will keep doing what I'm doing.
Someone turned me on to Orgain clean protein shakes, which I've been having as part of a light lunch over the last week. They taste good, aren't gritty, and don't have sugar.

Re: Let's Lose Weight Together!
Congrats, Big Boss!
I've mostly been just hovering between 6 and 8 lbs away from my ideal weight. I'm hoping eventually I'll break through the plateau, but I'm also pretty happy with where I'm at, so I'm not gonna push myself too hard.

honestly, if you're holding steady, worrying about those six pounds or so isn't important.

Sunday weigh-in: 203.4. Slow and steady is winning this race. As much as I'd like to claim victory now, I need to keep this up through the summer. With 200 closing in, the next goal is to get between 170-80 and then I can lift off the gas.

Sunday weigh in: 201. Sixty pounds and counting. Would have liked to say 200 but yesterday's cheat day was a big serving of pad thai and spring rolls for dinner. Keep on keepin' on.

Re: Let's Lose Weight Together!
Hell yeah, Boss!
I lost 130 lbs in college and finally seeing the 1 as the first digit was so satisfying.
I've been hovering between 193 lbs and 194 lbs for 2 months. I'm okay with it for now, since 185 is my ideal weight and I'm really close to that, but I've switched to 16/8 intermittent fasting to try to jolt my metabolism out of this plateau to get those last measly few pounds.

Dropped 1.6 lbs this week after hovering for the last 8 weeks. Intermittent fasting seems to have applied the jolt to my metabolism that I needed.

Noice
Sunday weigh in is 197.3. Below 200, here we go. I haven't had a week this good in a while. I'm preparing for going up to Maine in two weeks which, for four days, I'll probably be off the wagon. I'll still try to get some jogging and such in while I'm up there but dinner at least will be getting takeout lobsters and fish fry, so trying to stay low calorie will be very difficult.

Sunday weigh in: 193.5. I'm not sure what I did to have two weeks like this in a row, but I'll take it.

Re: Let's Lose Weight Together!
Monday weigh-in: 193.5. Since I was off the wagon completely while up in Maine for four days, that doesn't sound too bad. I still got some exercise outside by jogging and walking and filled my watch rings, but my diet was pretty much right out. Today it's back on track.

Monday weigh in: 190. At this point I'm looking at the end of the road in September. Basically, when September rolls around, whatever I am I am, and I'll go into maintenance mode. Hoping to hit 170 by then (and maybe I"ll stretch to hit that) but at this point things have been pretty successful and I need to start thinking about maintaining soon versus being in burn-it mode.

170 is my goal at this point, though I'm willing to take "whatever I'm at" when September rolls around.

Sunday weigh in: 181.3. That puts me at 80 pounds since starting to post in this thread. September is quickly approaching, I don't think I'll hit 170 even by then but it'll be pretty close, and I think at this point I can say mission generally accomplished.

Congrats! Now begins the lifelong journey of maintenance. Now that you have done the hard part, have the confidence that you are able to lose the weight if you need to again, which means you shouldn't feel bad if you want to take a day off every so often.

Re: Let's Lose Weight Together!
Okay so I need to start losing some weight. The heaviest I ever was was 251 lbs, and I weighed 239.8 last Saturday.
I got a scale that measures body fat too (it says it sends an electric current through your legs and measures the resistance or something). The app that goes with the scale says my body fat is 43.9% (Fitbit says that women my age should be between 20-31%).
My goal for now is to get down to 190 lbs, but it says I should get down to 168 to be in a "normal" range for my height.
So as of today my stats are:
Weight: 237.4 lbs
Body Fat: 43.9%

Don't weigh yourself more than once a week or you'll go crazy. Your body's weight can fluctuate by up to 3 lbs a day.

Re: Let's Lose Weight Together!
I want to try losing 20 pounds before my birthday next year. Try to give myself a nice birthday present. I currently weigh 260(my highest was 265 but I ended up losing 5 pounds somehow, idk how) and I'll try weighing myself once every Saturday from now on to hold myself accountable. It's kinda hard not going to the gym anymore because of COVID but I've been trying to go out for walks when the weather's cooperative. I want to try working out in my apartment in the meantime. It's getting really frustrating finding things I can fit that I actually like. I want to ring in the big 30 by at least saying that I tried to get to the goal weight of 240. It's been inspiring reading the achievements in this thread, y'all are amazing!!!!

I'm using this Renpho smart scale. I'm sure it's not dead on accurate and BMI is bullshit anyway, but it makes an estimate on your body fat by sending an electric current through one foot and it sees how long it takes to get to the other. If you have a lot of fat, it takes longer I guess.

Re: Let's Lose Weight Together!
Thank you very much. I will definitely look into it - particularly in regards to the accuracy. That aside, $28 seems low for such a sophisticated instrument. Or it could be me who's overestimating such devices.Snowfire wrote: ↑Sun Nov 22, 2020 9:55 pmhttps://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N1UX8RW/re ... UTF8&psc=1

What you say of BMI is true, which is why body fat percentage is the preferred metric from what I've heard.

Saturday weigh-in
Current weight: 257.4
I ended up gaining some weight because I think I might not have been eating enough food last week and the beginning of this week so my body went into "starvation mode" and when I actually started eating the proper amount my body wanted to cling onto as much as possible lol. At least I didn't go back to 260, that would've sucked...

Saturday weigh-in
Current weight: 256.0
Lost some which was nice, my weight seems to want to stick around 260-250. It's kinda frustrating, it makes me wonder if I was meant to be overweight, even when I was younger, I still was overweight for my age. I kinda feel like that's just me making excuses for myself and I need to lose the weight.
