I would hope so. Anyone who would willingly buy that deserves to lose a lot of money. And conversely anyone who would buy it just because it's expensive deserves to look stupid.

I looked. This is from a Diana Shoes, a Japanese brand. The Woody shoe costs 29,700 yen, which is US$279.41 according to current exchange rates.

Definitely for people who have too much money to spend.

The Piggly Wiggly logo has a pretty blatant Porky Pig ripoff, so a knock-off of a knock-off?

The story of Piggly Wiggly is a fascinating one, considering that the store revolutionized grocery shopping by having customers pick their own goods in the aisles instead of giving a list to a clerk who'd then gather the listed items. Now that's the norm in retail and grocery stores where you can place your order online and collect it at the store are a trendy fad.

It was advertised that the game was written in machine code because the other option was BASIC.
And programs written in BASIC run a lot slower than those in machine code (or compiled to machine code) because
all BASIC code has to be interpreted when it runs, which is quite an overhead for the slow CPUs of the micro computers.

Yeah, but wouldn't it be a given that if you were buying a program at a store for real money, that it would be machine code? If for no other reason than keeping every single customer from being able to see the source code?

Back in the good old microcomputer days everyone could release a game or a piece of software, and there were quite a few ads of publishers asking you to sell them your homebrew software for a few bucks and they'd publish it. A program being in machine code (or even working properly) wasn't a given at all, and even with BASIC it was possible to obfuscate your code or make it less easy to just get the source with a LIST command, not to mention that a decent program could get quite long.

Massachusetts is one of a handful of states whose names are roughly anglicized versions of words used by local peoples encountered early on by English or French settlers. In that state's case, one explanation is that the name came from the Massachusett people, an Indian tribe who lived in what is now the Boston area. Words derived from the various Indians aren't in common use otherwise, so with few of the usual clues for English spelling and word construction applicable, these states end up being harder to spell.

The city of Chicago is named after the Native American word for ramps, which grew abundantly in the area when French settlers first visited. :spike101:
