Going back through the early seasons, I was surprised how often they wanted to separate the saucer section at the first sign of trouble, compared to the rest of the series.

And then there was a Star Trek episode where a ship splits into THREE!

Can we have a Trek show set entirely on the saucer section where it’s all civilians who have no idea what the crew is up to or that they nearly explode every week?

Come to think of it, why does a ship whose purpose is to explore uncharted parts of the galaxy have a whole deck full of tourists? It's like that subplot in Muppet Treasure Island where Rizzo decides to sell tickets to other rats, telling them it's a cruise line.

They're the crew's families.

Some cargo ships offer passenger service, and if you want to save a few bucks you can travel the world on tramp freighters (which honestly sounds appealing compared to the floating hellscapes that are cruise ships).

So maybe Enterprise picks up a few extra quatloos by picking up passengers who were headed to Veridian III anyway.

Voyager occasionally had good ideas, they just never did much with those.

Also Janeway did war crimes.

They do do that as well, one episode mentioned they transported colonists to a planet.

So there's been a thing lately where people who criticize NFTs, particularly on Twitter, get dogpiled by NFT bros trying to mansplain why they're wrong about them. And I suddenly remembered that Gamergaters did this exact same thing back in the day, so much so that the internet invented a term for it. And I can't for the life of me remember what that term was. It was one of those meme names that's a reference to a specific satirical tweet, like "milkshake duck" or "corncobbed". For some reason I think it had to do with giraffes?

I have a colleague, who is an artist, and he is fully immersed in the NFT business and think it's super great that he can sell his digital art on a wide platform. He cannot shut up about it whenever we met in a video meeting or in person.

Back then I thought bitcoin was dumb (and still am) and the same is about NFTs. The former was about the waste of energy and regulation, the latter about dilution and further complication of the copyright system and the stupidity of "owning" references to a digital file (and waste of energy too). Well... I'm too sensible to get into all of it and make a profit off. If I got bitcoin in 2010, I'd have a lot of money to buy a house. If I got into NFT in its infancy I could have scammed some rich boy out of their pocket change. On the other hand those "decentralized systems" are quite vulnerable and there are plenty of reports of stolen "digital goods".
I have also an aversion to gambling and investment into these do strongly look like gambling. I do not own any stock because of similar reasons.

While I have some minor "regret" for not investing into it but on the other hand I am content that my conscience and my integrity are not tainted by these.
