Philosophical melodrama and over-the-top monologues are an ESSENTIAL PART of the metal gear experience. Even games that were drastically different in gameplay, like revengeance, preserved this extremely important aspect of the games. I ask you, how does one even monologue dramatically about zombies? Answer: you fucking can't. Zombies are a philosophically bankrupt topic.

This is some straight up bull shit, konami. I know kojima is gone but you could at least TRY to preserve his vision, particularly if you want to sell a single god damn copy of your game

previously you went from MGS4's old soldier, weary and dying, trying to finish the job in this fucked up constant war-ridden future to HIGH OCTANE CYBORG SWORD FIGHTING DEVELOPED BY PLATINUMGAMES huh what's that? a metal gear? FUCK IT! PARRY IT! THROW IT IN THE AIR AND CHOP IT'S GIANT SWORD ARM OFF! This brazillian ninja has a giant sword with a gun sheath to shoot his sword out. and yet, despite how fucking bonkers it is, it's still an entirely natural logical continuation of the nonsense that preceded it in the previous games. It's a good game, and it's entirely respectful and in-line with what came before it. we've seen cyborg ninjas before. we've seen raiden being an awesome cyborg ninja before. It's got the battles of philosophies going on. its all very serious and extremely metal gear, it's just that it's compacted and streamlined for the character action game format.

Survive, from what's been shown, has nothing. It's some weirdo bullshit that comes out of the ending for Ground Zeroes, where Mother Base is destroyed and sinks into the ocean. Except instead here, it gets sucked into an inexplicable wormhole into some weird alternate dimension(???) that's infested with crystal zombies and other bullshit
the only vague hint of a neat idea is that the crystal zombies have red ! crystals on their heads, which would be like, a physical representation of the gameplay thing in MGS where if you shot a guard's ! during the very brief window when you got spotted but before they sounded the alert, you'd knock them out or stun them or whatever. it still looks completely stupid but it's the vaguest hint of an interesting idea SOMEWHERE
