The continuity was dense in this episode. However, although tried to be explained, Minuette's, Lyra's, Twinkle Shine's, and Lemon Heart's muteness in the past and later episodes makes every appearance of them with Twilight in the same space awkward.

There aren't too many episodes of the show that appear to be universally acclaimed in the fandom. This is definitely one of them, and I'm certainly happy to say I agree with the positive consensus. This is a marvelous episode about a topic that is not only well-written, but explores a theme/storyline that is so special and perfect for the show that I can't help but feel like an episode like this one was necessary at some point.
