I really enjoyed this one. Probably the last 2 part episode I really, really enjoyed.
It's too bad, due to marketing and such, they've been unable to pull off a big surprise like this episode. It was marketed as just some wedding episode. Then Twilight gets sent to pony-hell at the end of part 1. It really was something to see totally unawares.
I even like how they dealt with Celestia being captured. It was a clever twist on the "love conquers all" trope by having a villain who could use the power of love, and was loaded up with more power than they had ever had before.
Some great songs too.

This episode made a Pony fan out of me. It was the first first-run episode I saw, and it certainly lived up to the hype, with action, drama and some shockers, as well as the songs.
Hard to believe the goofy Shining Armour we've seen recently is the same pony we see in this one, such as the scene where he tells off Twilight.
