Not Missiles Rescue Mission
Quick Assembly
One-Stage Rocket: 88-5%/2 = 41%
Boosters: 90-5%/2 = 42%
Two-Pony Capsule: 77-5%
Kishmaraaf's EVA: 98%/2 = 49%

Throwing together a mission to save your competitor is a noble goal, but all it has earned Chrysalis is a pile of flaming debris on the pad.

Launch: 57 FAIL
Major engine failure, rocket explosion.

+8 budget for trying though.

Kishmaraaf Rescue Mission
Quick Assembly
Two-Stage Rocket: 92-5%/2 = 43%
Boosters: 93-5%/2 = 44%
Two-Man Capsule: 86-5%
Orbital Satellite: 97-5%
Docking: 60-5%
EVA: 98-5%/2 = 46%

Miraculously, this rocket makes off the pad. The issues begin in orbit, when the docking module fails to power up. There's nothing ground control can do; they have to do the EVA. With careful guidance by the computers, the rescue capsule finds the stricken astronauts. The crew try to exit their capsule to EVA over, but Anonymous Astronaut 8 gets stuck. After a few tense moments of shuffling in the airlock, they are free. Minutes go by as the pair makes their way to the hopefully-working capsule. They enter without incident, and prepare to de-orbit.

This time, the deorbit burn is good and everything goes to plan.

Welcome home.

Launch: 24 PASS
Earth Orbital Burn: 24 PASS
Earth Orbital Activities: 55 PASS
Docking Module Power On: 94 FAIL

Earth Orbital Rendevous: 38 PASS
Emergency EVA: 59 FAIL

Two things:

First, the event deck has run out and been reshuffled, so you've seen the full gamut now.

Second, if you want, you can have a rescue mission planned. Just put on enough hardware to do the thing (reach earth or maybe moon orbit, probably a docking module). If a rescue is needed in the six month window that a normal mission would launch in, it will be able to without any safety penalties, except for the half EVA and the normal rushing penalty (and cost) if it rescues a rushed mission. If it turns out not to be needed, it will be "scrubbed" with no penalty other than taking up your pad for the year.

I guess Cloud Chaser has been drinking a bit too much cider after her last mission. I guess hiring a few additional crew members might be a good plan just in case she's not ready for the next mission.

Crew launches well. On the way, they manage to silence the Glorious Leader's Moon Speech, which had been on loop the entire mission. They are scared but optimistic so far.

Tom Hanks successfully lands on the surface, and climbs down the ladder.

"Like Icarus, we break the bonds of gravity, and fly free amongst the stars. Hopefully unlike Icarus, we don't die in a fireball on the way back."

A beautiful speech, which the world doesn't get to hear, due to Glorious Leader dubbing "GLORY TO KISHMARAAF, MASTER OF MOON" over it.

Back in orbit, a flaw in the docking mechanism prevents the module from re-coupling with the capsule. Tom Hanks heroically suits up and makes the trip across. Thankfully, he manages to re-enter the capsule.

Some days later, glorious Kishmaraaf capsule returns to Earth! Glory to astronauts! Glory to kicker! GLORY TO KISHMARAAF!

Launch: 92 PASS
Earth Orbital Burn: 92 PASS
Earth Mission Burn: 7 PASS

In a daring mission, the planned lunar landing is repurposed into a rescue mission. The empty shuttle intercepts the stricken one. It takes considerable effort, and even more risk, but they manage to make the EVA across. The spare shuttle brought a module, so why not land on the moon? It's not what they planned to do, but it's right there.

On the surface, Spitfire and Soarin expressed quite a bit of concern over their luck.

But things went well for the first ponies on the moon, and the shuttle landed back on Earth safely.

The first issue arises when there's a problem with the plumbing in Earth orbit. Thankfully the drones manage to fix it.

Kevin lands on the surface of the moon, where he pronounces, "One small step for a changeling, one giant leap towards an orbital bombardment platform." Truer words were never spoken.

The engines act up again in lunar orbit, but they manage to get them working (unlike a certain shuttle that they waved to when it went by), and they make it home.

Launch: 63 PASS
Earth Orbital Burn: 100 FAIL

Third place, or maybe second depending on how you look at the Pegasopolis mission.
